The Hong Kong Christian International School, as an annual school project based in Pacific Harbour, and now in its second year, visited Uprising in May, to continue work on their community development and cultural experience program, with the Deuba District School. The project is an ongoing initiative, that will give our international friends and visitors to Fiji, a taste of the real Fiji, and allow them to experience our culture and way of life in a traditional village community. The program allows the students visiting Fiji the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful beaches and landscapes, but also the opportunity to give back to the community, and make lifelong friends along the way! This year’s goal was to renovate the school library and build the school incinerator.
The School Principal says the students are loving their newly renovated facilities, and cannot be thankful enough for the kindness, and generosity for the Hong Kong Students efforts! A special thank you, goes out to John & Sandy Burnett, who have a long standing relationship with Pacific Harbour, and Fiji, and are the drivers behind this great cause. John & Sandy teach at the International School in Hong Kong , and lead the group each year. VINAKA VAKALEVU JOHN & SANDY, and all your students! We are look forward to seeing you again next year, and best wishes from everyone at Uprising, the Deuba District School and community of Pacific Harbour!

In May, The Simply Yoga group from Brisbane Australia, holidayed in Fiji at Uprising, not only to enjoy sunrise yoga sessions on the beach each morning and take in a little FIJI TIME, but they also visited the Deuba District School. Having booked through Fun in Fiji, and following encouragement and an introduction from Karen from Fun in Fiji, they caught up with the students, to donate some great sporting equipment and school supplies. The kids were thrilled, and the visit was definitely a highlight of the yoga ladies’ stay. Here’s a big VINAKA VAKALEVU to Monica Batiste, and the Simply Yoga Brisbane crew and Fun in Fiji! We thank you for your kindness, and generosity

Emma, Laura and Lachlan, friends from Sydney, Australia came to Fiji for a short holiday from work and studies. They were in Fiji for 1 week and enjoyed every moment of their stay at Uprising Beach Resort and in Fiji. They found out about the resort through FEEJEE Experience and thought that it would be a great place to try it out.
“The food is excellent here and the staff are very friendly. We work and go to Uni which makes our everyday hectic and tiring so we all thought to go for a holiday and for that we planned to go somewhere tropical and then Fiji it was for us. We totally love the weather here and the hospitality at Uprising is really great. We tried out snorkeling and it was good. We will definitely come back to Uprising if we get an opportunity”, said the three friends.
Thank you Uprising Beach Resort and hope to be back…

Jane was sitting at the restaurant table outside with all the other students and teachers when I approached her for an interview. Without hesitation she offered me a seat and delightfully started to answer my questions. Jane works at the Christian Ministry in USA and was here in Fiji to pass on the knowledge and teachings of Christianity to the people here. Their main area of focus was at the University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University campuses.
“We had 4 full time staffs that came here last year and this program has been going on for a few years. Our students love it here and always look forward to come spend time in Fiji. This is the first time we all have been here at Uprising Resort and we all love the environment and the hospitality. We came to Fiji on May 21st and till now we are have been preaching and enjoying our whole experience. Our
group was in Suva for 3 weeks at USP and FNU and then we came down to Pacific Harbor to relax for a short while and then it is back to work for all the members and staff,” said Jane.
When asked about the activities that they all took part in she replied “We had gone to Zip Fiji before coming to Uprising Resort and we all enjoyed it there. It was a whole new experience for me and my students. We also went to Colo-i-Suva when we were in Suva, visited the waterfalls and went for snorkeling. Staying at Uprising resort feels so relaxing and the best part about the rooms is the outdoor shower, which is very unique. Food is delicious and well cooked. The staff are utmost very friendly and helpful which makes staying here more enjoyable and easy”.
“I must say that it feels like we are in a glamorous camping trip. We will definitely come back to Uprising Beach Resort when we come to Fiji the next time for our Christian fellowship program. Thank you very much”, she mentioned.
